    A numbers game

My age as of last Sunday is double sevens.  As of May 28 I have been married to one man double fives, and the difference is double twos.  This is in the category of useless information, but certainly a rare occurance.

    Happy as kings

Robert Louis Stevenson was a Scottish writer who wrote a book called "A Child's Garden of Verse".  One of my favorite quotes is : "the world is so full of a number of things, I think we should all be as happy as Kings".  For this entry I am thinking about things that bring me pleasure.  Like the old song, "Count your many blessings, name them one by one", it is fun to think about what really makes us happy.  Since I was guess mostly only my family reads this, they might like to know more of what I am about.

Things that always bring a smile to my face are pictures of puppies or kitties, or babies, or to see members of my own family.  Music can set a mood for me and make me feel good.  That would be popular music from our time, including show tunes, and a lot of the classical or hymns, depending on my mood or need.  The ocean is a strong attraction for me and I feel so very happy by the sea.  In my next life, if there is one, I want to live by the sea day in and day out, smelling clean salt water and feeling those negative ions that make one feel so good.  I like to hear birds sing and to watch them.  Beautiful flowers growing around or in my home bring pleasure too.  Books bring so much pleasure and add to one's knowledge and thought processes.  I love and like my husband most of the time and he is my other half.  Friends are special too.  I enjoy jigsaw puzzles, and word puzzles, and games.  My computer has connected me with new friends all over the world.  I enjoy creating things through sewing.  And last but probably most important is my faith.  I wish I could pass this to others because it is so real if you let it be.  God does exist and certainly enriches life if you let Him oe Her.  My prayer is that all of my children will know God in their lifetime.  So these are my musings for today.

    Blue and blue eyes

Blue has always been my favorite color.  Blue actually makes me feel good.  It gives me feelings of happiness.  When in Jr. High Home EcClass they held up different colors to let the class decide which looked best on you, blue was my best.  One time when we lived in Mexico I wore a new dress to a dinner party, and the plant manager complimented me and said I should wear blue all the time.  Okay, years ago I had a theory from talking to others that blue eyed people seemed to prefer blue, and they also felt a passion for blue above what most people feel for their favorite color.  So my theory is that blue eyed people generally enjoy blue as a favorite.  Now this theory doesn't apparently work 100% because some blue eyed people including some of my own children do not love the color blue as others of us do.  But the majority of those I have discussed this with, agree that there is something there we don't totally understand but it is out there for most blue eyed people.  Aren't these musings fun?

Are you a morning or night person?

I had a theory Years ago about what might make a person a morning person or a night person.  I am a night person.  I feel best at night.  I get more done at night.  As a child my mother was always sighing that it was so hard to get me to bed.  I used to read some nights with a flashlight under the covers.  My husband is a morning person and he wakes p full of energy and often noisy when all I want is quiet and my coffee.  Then I got an idea that this might be determined by the time of day you were born.  I was born around 10 pm in the evening.  My husband was born in the morning.  That has checked out pretty well over the years when people discuss which they are and then agree that their birth time fit my thoughts.  So it is unofficial but fun to see that this may be true that there is some correlation here.  Now you have one of my musings over the years.   Which are you?

    I Have Come Full Circle

A few nights ago I sat at a band concert where my son was playing Saxaphone, and our Daughter in Law was playing a Clarinet.  I looked down a few rows and waved back to a beautiful little four year old girl, all smiles, who is my great granddaughter, Amber.  My twelve year old great grandson, Nicholas, was near by.  I thought about our newest Great granddaughter, Addie, in another state.  I couldn't help but smile with pleasure as I realized I have come full circle.

Almost 77 years ago I was the new little baby, the first of my generation.  I was a daughter, a granddaughter, a great granddaughter, and niece.  Later I became a sister and a cousin as the family grew.  Time continued and I became a friend and later a girl friend.  Time kept on rolling and I became a fiance, and then a bride, and a wife.  With that I became a daughter-in-law, sister- in- law.  Then ibecame a mother to five, a beautiful daughter, and four handsome sons.  Time kept rolling along and then I became the mother-in-law.  Next came Grandma, and finally great grandma.  I am almost 77 years ols.  I hope to live at least another 10 or 12 years and more if I still have a quality of life.  But I realize that I have been deeply blessed and am enjoying being able to see the greats coming along.  It hasn't all been easy but it wasn't meant to be.  But I am very happy and I have come full circle.
