September 20 Talking about 8 Food Myths Busted! - Page 2 - MSN Health & Fitness - NutritionHere's page 2. Now lets see if the blog kept page one. You may be interested in both. Quote 8 Food Myths Busted! - Page 2 - MSN Health & Fitness - Nutrition Talking about 8 Food Myths Busted! - Page 1 - MSN Health & Fitness - NutritionI found this interesting as many of the common attitudes about food are debunked. Now if I can just get page two on here it will be completer. Quote 8 Food Myths Busted! - Page 1 - MSN Health & Fitness - Nutrition September 19 Ocean BlueI must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky. And all I ask is a tall ship, and a star to steer her by. Robert Lewis Stevenson
My favorite place on earth is beside the ocean. Those negative io0ns make one feel so good. I listen to the roar of the surf and watch waves break up, and spash as they roll in anround my ankles. They gently roll back to the sea as another one comes in. And as the water retreats my feet sink a little more into the sand. I love the salty smell of the seaside, and the cool gentle breezes. At night I like to get up and go to the open window and look out into the dark to see far away lights of ships passing on the distant horizon. It is also fun to sit in the sand and make little sand castles. Or one can go in the water if it is warm enough and jumjp the waves or swim. All of this makes my soul soar like a beautiful song.
I think of the beaches often. If I can't get to sleep at night I imagine standing by the ocean and enjoying all of the above, In my next life, if there is one, I'd like to live by the sea, but where it would be reasonably safe, (as opposed to huricane or landslide areas.).
I have enjoyed the California coast, Seaside, Oregon, Long Beach, and Pacific Beach, and OceanShores, Washington. I have also been to Orcas Island in the San Juans, and Port Townsend. Our favorite places since we have lived in Washington are Pacific Beach, and Seaside.
So now you know my favorite dream: "by the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea," etc. Try it, you'll like it too!!! September 17 Democracy?Since politics is on the top of everyone's mind these days, I thought I'd say I hope everyone of you votes the right way and for the right people. (b g)
When I was in the 6th grade, we were at war, and each day for current events, the teacher marked off on a large world map (with black criss crosses) the new places Germany had taken over. One thing she emphasized was that the whole world was watching the US to see if "democracy really worked". With all the things that are happening in our country and the world, I wonder how much of the world is really impressed. It only works if the people care enough to listen, read, and learn so they can make intelligent choices, when they vote. That also must mean that children should really be educated so they can make choices by the best criteria. Every time anyone does something really stupid these days someone will say, "and that person is allowed to vote.
Two months to go. I will be so glad when it is over. I am glad that the news is picking up on and pointing out many of the lies we are hearing. If only people listened to the news, huh? Well it has to end sometime. I actually pray that God will help us to pick the right person for our present situation, and help us restore our nation as a kind leader and friend of all people. September 13 Mario LanzoMario was not only a great tenor he was in at least one movie. Here is a very rare short clip of him singing.

September 07 The fabric of lifeThe new season began in our church today. Our choir resumed practice last Thursday night and sang today. While we were waiting for everyone to be served communion, I suddenly felt as though my father was sitting beside me with my mom next to him and my brother next to her. It felt good and reminded me of long ago as our family stood together to join the congregation in a hymn. As a young person who had not met the challenges of life, it was a secure, comfortable time. Though my parents have passed on, they are still so much a part of me.
Then my mind went to another time when I sat in church with our five children, and their father was the minister in the pulpet. This was another happy time that became part of the fabric of my life. They are all still a part of me and I of them.
Next I thought of our thirteen grandchildren whose ages are from 32 down to seven years. And our three great grandchilren who are 13, and 4 and 5 months. I adore all of them and our lives are entertwined.
Along with friends of a lifetime we are all a part of one another's quilt of life. Each piece of fabric is separate and beautiful, but a part of the whole. The quilt would not be complete without all of them. And together we each have this beautiful piece of art, that is warm, and comfortable. |
